Lakeview Sandbar

The Lakeview Sandbar is one of the largest sandbar on the lower Neches. The National Park Service has established a day use facility there with limited facilities. The large swimming beach is the biggest feature of the area. You can launch a canoe or kayak over the bank [N 30 13.002 W 094 07.019 ] or carry it across the beach area. There are no boat ramps.

Across the way is the Lower Neches Water Canal that provides an interesting trip down to Pine Island Bayou. The current is usually moving so it is an easy paddle, but you should allow a full day to make this one way trip down to a Pine Island takeout point.
